Parents - 

We are happy to announce that Buford will be participating and fielding teams once again for the Fall GLL 7 on 7 lacrosse league. Please be sure to forward this email to friends, neighbors and family that may be interested in participating. Season details are below:

• Cost will be $100 which covers all fees and a game pinnie
• Registration will open on 8/5 and close on 8/16
• Season will run from 9/8 to 10/27 (no games over Fall break)
• Sunday games/clinics only
• Boys teams:
  • Lightning – grades 4-5
  • Junior/Senior – grades 6-8
• Girls teams:
  • Lightning – grades 3-5
  • Junior/Senior – grades 6-8
  • HS Girls

This will be our third year participating and this is a great way to keep sticks in hands on a day that is open to those who may be participating in other fall sports. We will be sending out a reminder about sign ups in the next couple weeks. Finally, we will field as many teams as necessary to cover our participants so please make sure you sign up early so, we can secure space for your player.

At this time, we will not be fielding Bantam boys’ teams (grades 1-3). We have discussed and the problem is as follows. The Bantam division is 4 on 4, not 7 on 7. That requires additional coaches that we do not have. We would anticipate at least 2 teams which would require 4 coaches. Also, this is a beginner division and our inability to practice inhibits the development of this age group as most have never picked up a stick. We are forced to put our players into games on day one which is not optimal. We are open to discussing if the interest is there but will need volunteers and patient parents in order for us to support and succeed.
